Message From Your Counselor
WELCOME BACK TO THE BUILDING, CLASS OF 2024!!
My name is Dr. Abigail Daniel. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to serve as your school counselor for School Year 2021-2022.
I have served as a school counselor for 25 years. I received my Bachelors degree from Florida A&M University and my Masters from the University of the Virgin Islands. In 2017, I earned my Doctorate of Education from Argosy University, Sarasota.
I am excited to work with all of the students and families at Clarkston, and I look forward to meeting all of you in person. As your counselor, I am determined about seeing ALL my students achieve and graduate in 2024.
To My Students: Know that I will "push you" to achieve your desired goal. My advice to you is DO NOT QUIT! If you stumble, GET BACK UP. What happened yesterday no longer matters. Everyday is another day that brings you closer to your dreams and goals.

ARE YOU PLANNING ON GOING TO COLLEGE?
10th Grade Checklist: Everything You Need to Succeed
1. Take Rigorous Classes. At CHS, we offer Accelerated English Math and Science classes as well as AP World History. Please contact your counselor if you would like to take a rigorous class in 10th grade.
2. Prepare for SAT Reading and Writing. At CHS we offer SAT prep class (FREE). Please contact your counselor to add the SAT prep class to your schedule.
3. Join Extracurricular Activities.
4. Boost Your GPA. Your main focus should be high grades. Stay in constant communication with your teachers. Ask questions when you are unsure of your teacher's expectations.
5. Take the PSAT in October. This test will give you a good indication on how to prepare for the SAT.
6. Take AP Test.
